INSTALLATION
 
In order to successfully install the software, Sun JAVA 1.4.0 (or later) must be installed.  It is available at SUN's website, or this CD in the ./TransitionNetworks/java directory.

MS Windows users, browse to .\TransitionNetworks\win\ and run setup.exe.

HP-UX and Solaris users, run "sh ./fp.sh" located in ./TransitionNetworks/unix/.  If you wish to directly execute the fp.sh install script, you need to copy the entire tree to the hard disk, and change the permissions on this file r-x.

The installation files will guide you through the installation process.

Standalone installs are for systems where no network management software (e.g. HP OpenView) is running, and the user wants to use Focal Point 2.0.

The HP OpenView install will create the necessary links and HPOV registration files to "integrate" Focal Point 2.0 into HP OpenView as an application that can be launched from within HP OpenView.
